Prologue for Krys Ocean Race

As preparation for the 1st international sailing race with the new One-Design MOD70 Trimarans, the 5 participating Boats are assembling in the harbor of NewPort.

The 5 Boats are:

• Race for Water
• Foncia
• Groupe Edmond de Rothschild
• Spindrift racing
• Musandam - Oman Sail 

These Boats will sail a Prologue from Newport to NewYork city for the Krys Ocean Race.

Start is on 2nd July 2012 at 17:00 GMT.

On 7th July the Krys Ocean Race will start from New York City to Brest. LiveSkipper will also then offer the opportunity to sail virtually alongside the real boats and give you a try to beat them. This prologue will be a nice training on the Liveskipper sailing simulator and get to know the details of the simulator and the characteristics of the MOD70 Boats.   

MOD70's transfers to New York for the Transatlantic Sailing Race.

The MOD70 is a new ONE DESIGN MULTIHULL ; a Trimaran.

Last years have brought together some famous international sailors to develop the concept, after the success of the multihull 60ft, of a class multihull 70ft that complies to strickt measuring rules. 


This way a race can be made between identical boats, such that the quality of the sailors becomes overriding  factor in the  sailing race wins. 


The Boats are being transferred to NewYork in preparation for a Sailing Race. 
A 1st International Sailing Race of the MOD70 Class Multihulls will be held  from New York to Brest, under the name "Krys Ocean Race". 
The start is set for the 7th July 2012.

A NEW Concept MULTI-ONE-DESIGN Multihull. 

A revival of the Oceanic Multihull.

In the 80's of the previous century the wish for a one-design was evolving. This resulted in the making of the 60foot multihulls with strict dimension. This became known as the ORMA (Ocean Racing Multihulls association). 
After some 15 years of adventures sailing races, the need was felt to make a new class of Ocean going multihulls. 

Launch of the Development and Construction of the MOD70 -2009 

The target was set to design an One-Design Trimaran 70 ft, that would comply with precise specifications related to performance, safety, modern facilities and longevity. The aim is to make this class to last till 2020. 

As these Boats are made for Oceanic racing, the designs include 

modern communication systems for "live" tracking during races and to provide a large amount of information to other media. 

The class is thought to be restricted to 12 Boats, with a maximum of 4 boats per nationality. 

MOD70 become reality.

The first Boats in the MOD70 class were released in 2011. see the pictures in the above TAB : "Media".

Sailing Races will Start soon.

1. The 1st MOD70 International Sailing Race will be starting with a TransAtlantic Sailing Race from New-York to Brest. Starts on 7th July 2012. 
2. The European Tour that will start in Kiel on 2nd September 2012 & June 2013. 
3. An OceanWorld Tour, starting October 2013 till about April 2014.
